My US and UK proofs are here! Sometimes referred to as galleys or ARCs (advance reader copies), these are editions of the book that are sent to established authors, reviewers, and booksellers before publication. It is a kind of rite of passage to send a book out to early readers in hopes that it will find some friends who will welcome it when it hits the shelves.
The eye-catching red cover, designed by Lucy Kim, is my US proof. This is very similar to what the finished US version will look like. The charcoal cover with the rose gold writing is my UK Super Proof – a special, limited run edition designed by Linnet Mattey. Another round of UK proofs, a cover designed by Sija Hong, is on the way.
